Xeriscape Demonstration Garden

Water conservation through creative landscaping is becoming increasingly important to all of us. Xeriscape gardening is all about “dry,” low-maintenance and natural landscaping without sacrificing design or beauty. The Xeriscape Demonstration Garden at Botanica features plants that fit the concept of Xeriscape gardening. Once established, the plant selections in the Xeriscape Garden are heat and drought tolerant and require little maintenance to thrive.

 

Other garden highlights include: 

   • Interpretive signage educates the

     visitors about each of the seven

     Xeriscape principles of landscaping.  

   • A mulch display showcases the different

     types of mulches that can be used in the

     garden 

   • A Cactus Garden that features the

     different varieties of hardy cactus that

     can be grown in our area.
