  • What should I expect during my Illuminations visit?                                         
      • Illuminations is held in the main gardens at Botanica. The one-way path is about a mile long with more than two million lights. It takes the average guest an hour to an hour and a half to walk through the full display.
      • Illuminations includes three different choreographed light displays that dance to music. In addition, you'll love the underwater scene in the Shakespeare Garden, the Funky Tree, Candy Cane Lane in the Butterfly House, Santa's Village, 240-foot walk-under tunnel, hot drinks, food trucks and so much more!
  • Can I exchange my tickets for a different date?
      • Yes, you can change your reservation 24 hours prior to your existing reservation. Reference your confirmation email or text for the link to change your reservation.
  • What are the dates of Illuminations?
      • November 24th, 2023 through December 30th, 2023.
      • Nightly time slots are available at 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8:30 p.m.

  • How much does Illuminations cost?
      • $16 - Non-Member Adults
      • $13 - Members, Military, Seniors (62+)
      • $10 - Youth Ages 3-12
      • Free - Children 2 and Under

  • Where do I park and enter Illuminations?
      • All Illuminations guests will enter at the South Gate Entrance on Sim Park Drive across from Cowtown. Guests can park in the River Edge Parking Lot or the Cowtown Parking Lot. Print your tickets at home or simply pull up the barcode in the confirmation email on your phone when you arrive at the South Gate Entrance.
      • Shuttle buses from overflow parking near the Cowtown parking lot will be available most nights.
  • Do I have to purchase tickets online?
      • Yes, you must pre-purchase your tickets online. No tickets will be sold at the door. When purchasing online tickets, select the date and time you plan to attend. If you do not arrive within the 1-hour window on your ticket, it will be invalid and you will not be able to enter.
  • How does Botanica prevent overcrowding at Illuminations?
      • With a limited number of time-specific tickets available each evening, Illuminations ensures an enjoyable experience for guests. The one-way path limits interaction with other guests and reduces congestion on the walking path.
  • Will the Khicha Family Carousel be open?
      • Yes, the Khicha Family Carousel will be open during Illuminations! Ride tickets can be purchased inside the Carousel Pavilion for $3 each.
  • Will there be food or drinks available for purchase?
      • Yes, there are several options available to purchase food, drinks and treats at Illuminations. Grab dinner from a local food truck, enjoy hot coffee or cocoa, and snack on candy or popcorn. Also check out the holiday merchandise for sale. All vendors accept credit/debit cards only; cash will not be accepted.
  • How long is the Illuminations display, and are wheelchairs available?
      • The one-way Illuminations walk is about one mile long, which makes social distancing manageable for guests. Botanica has a limited number of wheelchairs available at the entrance on a first come, first served basis. Wheelchairs are free to use and must be returned at the end of the event. All walkways are wheelchair accessible.
  • How do I purchase Illuminations tickets?
      • Illuminations tickets are available for purchase online only. You will not be able to purchase tickets in person at Botanica or QuikTrip. All guests must reserve a time slot and arrive within 1-hour to ensure access to the event.
  • What if I am late to my reserved time slot?
      • Guests have a 1-hour window to get their tickets scanned and enter Illuminations. If you are late to your 1-hour window, you will not be able to enter and no refund will be given. Please consider traffic and parking in your timing.
  • Will Santa be at Illuminations?
      • Yes, Santa will be at Illuminations until December 23rd. Kids are encouraged to bring a letter to Santa and drop it off in the oversized mailbox.
  • Will the trains be going during Illuminations?
      • Yes, the Wichita Area Garden Railway Society will have a pop-up train display in the Party Barn in Downing Children's Garden for guests to walk by and enjoy.
  • What happens in bad weather?
      • If we have inclement weather and Botanica cancels Illuminations for the evening, your ticket will be redeemable for a different night. However, if Botanica is open and you choose not to attend due to cold weather, snow or rain, Botanica is not required to issue refunds. Check Botanica's website and social media to see if Illuminations is affected by inclement weather.
      • Illuminations is Botanica's largest fundraiser and this year more than ever, we appreciate your support! If you choose not to attend, your purchase will support the garden’s operations throughout the year. You are also welcome to change your reservation 24 hours prior to your existing reservation. To do this, go to the confirmation email or text you received and find the link to change your reservation.
  • Is the drive-thru Illuminations option available this year?
      • No, the drive-through option is not available this year. Enhancements to the traditional, walk-through event, along with the River Edge Parking Lot and time-slotted tickets, allow Botanica to focus on providing a safe and enjoyable experience inside the gardens.
